I really dislike the way that the new GTO looks like. It looks horrid. I like Pontiacs, I drive a 97 GTP, the GTO just looks like every blind person at GM took a swing at it with the ugly stick.

The SC kit for the 04 GTO is actually worth the money, about 6 grand for a nice big SC, intercooler (and all the parts for it, pump and a radiator), ECU upgrade, new fuel injectors, new fuel rails and a 3 year warranty.

I would have waited, if GM gets of their ass and releases the "Judge" version of the GTO, I will dump my GTP and get that.
Here is what it looks like:
front
front again
rear
looks mean, almost pissed off
another pic
pontiac arrowhead
functional hood scoops
for those that think that the side exhaust looks funky, here is the original GTO

GTO Judge = GTO w/ a wide body kit.

Looks great though. That's how they should come from the factory.

They also need the price to drop a hair. I'm on the fence between a Mustang GT (new body style) and the GTO.

Yea I know .... the new GTO was just a bit bland for me.

Straight from the owner of the GTO, the GTO handles 'pretty good' and a 1992 FWD Maxima handles 'great.'
(That's the way I read it)

Well, he did say it had multiple thousands of dollars in suspension work.

I do have multiple thousands of dollars into the suspension. Front and rear sway bars that are several times bigger and harder than stock. Eibach springs and Koni struts, larger wheels and BFG KDW tires. Front and rear Strut tower bars. Front tie bar. and most of the rubber suspension bushings are gone, they have been replace with metal bushings and joints where possible. Its not a few bolt ons, but a complete workup. All of that is about $2700. Over half of what the car Blue Books for. Yes, it is FWD, and yes, its obvious when I drive it, but it still handles great. Can we say no body roll? Anyway, if your ever in teh Chicago burbs and want a ride in one of the best handling Maxima's that exist, let me know.

The GTO is much heavier, and not as nimble as even the f-body's were. Remember that to this point my daily drivers were a Porsche 944 and a Maxima with a ton of work. Both hold the road like glue. The stock GTO is good, but not 'perfect'.

That's a ridiculously stupid comparison. Of course something like a Camry would be boring compared to a GTO, but then again something like a Malibu would be pretty boring compared to a Supra.

Here I live in the Motor City and have yet to have seen one on the road.

From the pics they look great, but I think the price is scarring people away.

I had a buddy just pick up a Grand Prix, $24K list, $16K out the door. Now that's a steal.

Fast -- but handles like a boat. I'd rather save my $$$ and get a used Vette. More fun to drive and they can actually go around corners -- something the GTO isn't too good at.

Besides, I have a big problem with Pontiac saying they are "re-releasing the GTO" and all the hype, and then just give us a 100% Holden Monaro with new interior and a different engine.

What a buncha losers. I won't ever buy a Pontiac.

How many Vette's can you seat 4 in?

Oh, yeah, none.

Well, looking at history, the GTO was just a Tempest with..... yes that's right, a different engine.
So the new one isn't that far off. They took another GM car and put in a bigger engine.

"Mike" turned out to be an undercover police officer, and Tim Allen, then known by his birth name of Tim Allen Dick, was arrested. The amount possessed by Allen was just over 650 grams. If convicted under Michigan law, Allen would be required to serve life in prison."
