Yesterday I got my new 41Gb Deskstar and happily started installing it. For some reason I couldn't get the autodetect feature in the Bios settup to recognize the drive as anything else than 33Gigs. I started messing a bit with the settings, when the computer locked up at reboot. I can't event get back into the Bios settup. It locks up at "Press DEL to enter Setup". Keyboard dead.
So started removing all the components, one by one. Now the only thing still connected is keyboard, mouse and video card. And it still locks in the same place.
I also removed the battery, thinking if the BIOS resets to the defaults, it'd be allright. Well... No luck!
My mobo is an Abit BP6, a dual Celeron board. So I also tried to restart with just one CPU, with just the other one, etc... Still no luck!
Anybody out there with an idea on how to thaw this poor little ol' mobo?
I'm thinking maybe I should take that as an omen and get meself something newer... But it'd be a shame, this board has operated flawlessly for a couple years now, I'd rather not have to put it down. *sniff*
