Yet another bash on Fry's / ECS that has not one bit of truth to it. Fry's doesn't sell refurb boards, never ever, seen one. I've bought 70-75 CPU/ECS combos from them over the years and I've NEVER had to settle for an open box.

I dont think I would touch the ECS boards anymore...have you noticed when you go to Frys they have a stack of this crap sitting there...I would try and get an Asus mobo. I did this deal a few months back and the ECS board never worked, I no longer buy ECS. My 2C.

I built several systems with ECS boards. I had just one go bad after about 6 months. Decent no frills brand.

I built a system recently on one these Fry's combo specials. Funny thing was how hard the saelsperson pushed the extended warranty. His final argument that I really needed the warranty was "afterall it IS an ECS board".
