Hey, maybe this is better. I just got a Shuttle AK31 (not A version) from UHid for $65 + 12 shipping. What do you guys think? Maybe now I can seel the ECS board.

I literally just got back from the Frys here in Dallas. They would not honor the pm from the Bay Area. They said they would only pm if the store was in the same region. So, it did not work. However, thanks for the post anyway. It is a seriously hot deal!

Sounds tempting, if I can get my local Fry's to pricematch that is. I was planning on waiting for a nforce MB, but that price seems nice.
Here in Houston the special is the 1800 + ECS MB for $229.

This deal is awesome. I just picked this up for $189 in Portland, OR.

I got it installed in about 1 hour. Upgrading a Celeron 633@980 to this. Still using PC133 Ram. Without any tweaks at all, my Quake 3 score went from 93 to 136 fps. And now I have a sound card and NIC to put on e-bay!

As for the overclocking potential on this board, there is none. I only see one choice for fsb speed (100 or 133), and no multiplier adjustments. Thats ok, though, becase these new XP processors are multiplier locked (the pencil trick no longer works).

Using the stock HSF, Sandra is reporting my CPU temp as 26C (78.8F). I think Sandra is lying to me as those seem too low. The HS is barely warm to the touch though.

They were gonna give me a raincheck, too....but then I got them to give me a 1600+ box for $20 less.

$149 for the mobo + CPU...not bad I guess....I didn't feel like waiting. They'll probably have a better deal in this Friday's ad anyway.....

FRY'S SUCKS!!....any of you who dont have a fry's in your area..your not missin anything...frys has the WORST cutomer service in the universe!! they somtimes have cheap prices...but if you ever have to return anything...after the strip search, anal probe, and the contract to hand over your 1st born...the price is too high!!! with fry's you always pay..one way or another...i avoid frys at ALL COSTS!!!!!

That's why if you go to Fry's, know what you are buying before you buy it.

I love frys and I look over their ads on mon-wed-fri-sat-sun religiously(what else to do on lunch break). They have good deals, but you have to be carefull when you buy stuff from them. I dont ever buy anything thats been returned(and has a corresponding sticker). Frys also has the best return policy of all places, no restocking fee or anything. Often times I use them as a placeholder for something that I ordered online for less and waiting for it to ship over. By the way if you think that this athlon 1700 + ecs mobo for $169 is not a good deal, try to find it for less elsewhere.....
