Picked up 2 of these combos on Sunday. Basically a steal if you can unlock the 4th core. Supposedly a bios update will make this happen, according to a Newegg post under the mobo. Mobos are decent enough, and haven't had any stability issues with either board.

Using Patriot mem ddr3 1333 and Kingston 40 gig SSDs boot drives and Hitachi 1 TB HDs in both rigs. And Nvidia 9800 and 8800s GT OCs respectively. Running WIN 7 on one box, and XP PRO on the other.

You know I have to consciously PREVENT myself from jumping on deals like this. It is absolutely ridiculous how cheap these things are. I waaaant to upgrade, but each time I tell myself that my X24400+ with 2 gigs of ram and a 7900gs 'works well enough'.

Ahh who am I kidding, if I wasn't having to do car maintenance at the moment, I would totally take advantage of this killer pricing. This just means I'll take advantage of something even better in the future...

How limited/crippled are 770s compared to 790/785s? Biostar has been pretty good OC'ing-wise, not quite sure about this chipset. I know you really can't complain at this price, but just wondering if it would be worth picking up a better board for a lil more.

I can confirm this board can unlock with the latest BIOS update, It worked successfully with my phenom II X2 555.

However, the board has a maximum TDP design of 95w so I would be careful and take note if you plan on doing any OC'ing. Obviously when I did any stress test, it shut off in seconds. Put some mosfet coolers at least. The A series is their "basic" line, which means it's even more crippled then the T series [in terms of features].
