Are the ECS M/B's any good? I hate to have the foundation of a PC be something I don't feel comfortable with.

Haven't paid much attention to the hardware marekt in the last 2 years ..

The ECS G31T-M is VERY stable board. Just update to the latest bios and enjoy. It will not overclock.

If you are interested in overclocking (8400 E0 Stepping will overclock well), I suggest you look at Asus P5Q Pro or Gigabyte Ep45-UD3R/Ep45-UD3P. All these boards are available on Newegg. Check it out.

Oh I guess I've been cheated twice then cus I've bought two combo deals and the cpu I'm using now is one of those OEM combo deal processors.

4 out of 5 of the combos I've purchased from the Renton WA Fry's have included tray cpus.

It would be nice if the advertisements indicated when a combo included a retail cpu...but without that information, I always assume its an OEM cpu and factor that into my decision.

Yes it does overclock. Look again with the latest bios.

Yep, this board overclocks, got an e4500 in one right now at 2.75ghz.
