Whatever you do, do not miss the grand opening day at a new Fry's. The best deals I've seen by far in the ATL store were on that first day.

It looks like the Fishers Indiana store is getting close to opening, I was by there last night and the Fry's sign is up on front of the building and the whole store was lit up.

Actually, MicroCenter is the oldest computer store, at least east of the Mississippi. They are headquartered here, and have mfg. ops. and two stores. I bought my first real PC from them, and they were the only store that sold them. IBM PC 8088 w/DUAL 360K FLOPPYS and 256K of RAM ... swapped the CPU at purchase, think it was an NEC v30 or such that they put in place of the original 4.88 MHz 8088, and bumped the memory up to 640K for an obscene price. I went with an amberchrome monitor, looked cooler than the green ... it was the hottest rig at the time. Finally Compaq broke the monopoly, and Leading Edge showed up too.Yea we have had that microcenter in Cleveland for about 15 years too!

When I swung by there the other day, they had no signs up. Maybe this is a good sign...

We build stores in malls and the last one was in Dayton, Ohio. We finished on Friday and the store opened for business on Monday. When they get their occupancy permit, these stores bring in a ton of people and stock them almost over night. They need to get it making money to pay for the construction and everyday open means a lot of money to them. This store will go from construction to open seemingly overnite.
