Fry's would be great competition for the likes of Best Buy, Circuit City, CompUSA, and the 3 Office stores (Staples, OD, OM). In fact, the planned location of the new Fry's will be within 5 miles of all these stores. We can expect hotter deals with pricematching.

Fry's is a horrible retailer, half of their stuff is broken. So, this SHOULD be a hot deal for the 150,000,000 who aren't near a Fry's. They suck.. people return broken stuff, they just put everything back in the box and toss it up on the shelf.. only way to avoid that is to buy stuff w/out the return label on it (and hope it really isn't a returned item). Besides the good prices every once in a while, they are really a terrible retailer.

Fry's really isn't that great. And he's right about selling broken parts - 3 out of the last five items I bought from them were broken and I had to return them. The newest broken item I bought from them took place today, a Panasonic shaver... Now I gotta go return it.

You're not missing too much without a Fry's near you.

Yeah, it would be nice to have another fry's closer than DFW or Houston. I am suprised that DFW has 4 and SA has 0. BTW, I've seen a Conn's clearance center down there, I think off of 1604. Is it any good?

I live in Oxnard. In certain parts of the city, you'll get shot for wearing the wrong football jersey. Oxnard easily maintains the highest murder rate in the county.

I live in a new apartment complex on the outskirts of the city, and my neighbors are still pretty shady. I imagine the Fry's will be close to my place. It's where all the new buildings are popping up. I can see five commericial construction sites as I turn out of my apartment area.

Moving from Santa Barbara to Oxnard (six months ago) raised the price of my car insurance by 35%.

I've been visiting the Fry's up in Westlake Village (40 minutes south of here), so it'll be a welcome addition to the area. The people in Santa Barbara will probably also love it. We already have the closest Best Buy, Wal Mart, and Krispy Kreme to Santa Barbara county.
