Frys LCD... 25ms ok?

How does a 25ms display hold up for gaming?

It is 450$...AR

The Dell 2001FP is only 16ms and it holds up just fine.

You can probably get away w/ 25ms, but it is the threshold for noticable ghosting.

Also, $450 isn't that cheap for a 17" (I assume, since there are no >17" in that price range). Get a 16ms or less panel, to be safe, but it really depends on your sensitivity.

Also, make 100% sure you get a DVI port on your monitor. DVI makes a world of difference in image quality, IMO.

I got this panel from newegg (well, the white version) and it's great for gaming, but the colors are a little washed out, IMO. Still, I heartily recommend it. Anand has a good review of it.

I have a 25ms LCD and its fine for gaming, on both DVI and VGA. I wrote a post about mine before, so if u wanna know more, u can search 4 it.

25ms is not bad, it's average, depending on what you use it for. 16ms or 12ms are both very good, i use 16ms and cant tell the difference from 12ms, it's a very small difference, but it's still there.

25ms is fine. I use my Planar PL191 for gaming all the time. There is a small amount of ghosting but it definatly playable.

depending on the quality of the panel, 25ms can be very good. the samsung 243T 24" lcd monitor uses a 25ms panel, but its of newer technology. ghosting is very minimal and lcd quality is much higher.

I just got a 16ms from fry's for $450 AR. It's the same LG screen as the 2100fp.

well it also depends on how well your eye is.. i guess you blind people cant tell the difference in ghosting
but a person who has sensitive eyes like me (20/20) can tell the difference

1. There are no >12ms panels, period.
2. I have 20/20 vision and I see no ghosting on 16ms panels, most people here are smart enough to wear glasses if they need them, so they have as good as 20/20 vision. What are you experiencing? The placebo effect.

if you want a good lcd with a good 12ms response time for under $450, then go here. newegg is hte best place to go.
