Went to the Fry's in fountain valley, ca around 8AM, I'd say about 50 people were already there, and almost half of them already had a hard drive in hand. A person even came up to me and asked if the hard drive was on sale and picked one up...they had about a hundred left, and I doubt there stock of HD will last til tomorrow...

Some people hate Fry's, some people would kill to have Fry's come to their town. Me, I have my choice of three different Fry's stores (heheh) and, while I do hate them, I have to admit that Fry's sales usually contain many good deals.

Anyhow, if you don't want to deal with Fry's, why not take the ad to Staples and do a PM. Staples PM are very easy and quick. I did this last week with the same HD when it was at $79.99 from CUSA. Will come back today and do another PM with my $50 off Amex Giftcard. A Dual 160GB RAID 0 array would be so sweeet!

EDIT: Dead on in Dallas! The pallet didn't say anything about them being on sale, but the 160GB models were indeed $69.

What the Plano Frys DID have, however, was the 250GB version of this model for $129. I didn't pick it up because I didn't know off hand what the going rate was, but now that I've checked Pricewatch I see it's a good $30 cheaper than the cheapest 250GB models Pricewatch lists. Looks like I'm going back

I grabbed the CompUSA one just this past Sunday - are they are same hard drive? It seems as if this one is a Ultra DMA/133 (direct memory access) and the one I bought from CompUSA is a Ultra ATA/133, but the CompUSA receipt does not say anything about the Ultra ATA/133. Would CompUSA pricematch this for me?
