This is a non-SE card. Most places including NewEgg are selling the full 5900 card with the 400 Mhz RAM (800 Mhz effective) for over $200.

Not a bad price...I'm thinking about getting a new video card for current and next gen games for $200 or less. Do you guys think this is a good option (better than ati's 9600 line?)

Yes its better than the 9600 line

i think the BFGs have 2.2ns memory too

people here who have it report it to have 2.2ns, there is no real other way but to take off the HSF and look at the ram chips

i saw this last night at frys as well. i was going to buy it, but i wasnt sure how this compares to 9800np which is aroundthe same price range. anyone know?

i bought the pny 5600ultra @ frys for 129.90... also 128mb ddr, 400mhz ram...
does somebody know how this vid card compares to the ati 9600 or 9800??? or have a link to it??

also can someone link me to some benchmarks...

i havent seen at 9800 nps at frys or best buy either. however, micro center had a deal near thanksgiving for it for $199 and also circuit city i believe. i bet you would still be able to find them if you look around. plus, they are widely available online.

from this thread i think circuit city no longer carries them. maybe only microcenter, but i don't see it on their website.

Just bought one at Frys in SoCal; thanks for posting . Stocksettings are is 400/850; I have it running now at 475/995 which is past the stock speed for the 5950 Ultra ! It has dual fans and what looks like a great heatsink.

Mind posting a link? I have looked and although they do carry BFG video cards they don't show any BFG Asylum 9500's.

I won a contest and was invited to BFG's headquarters in surburban chicago for gaming and surveys.. and they're a nice bunch of people.
Their call center is based in Illinois staffed 24/7, they mentioned they were competing head on with Visionteks lifetime waranty and it's for the owners lifetime. They also used higher quality memory.

maybe they offer the same kind of warranty as visiontek because most of the bfg employee's r ex-visiontek employee's. they left, or were let go, and they formed up their own company, bfg. says on their website most of their emplyee's r gamers so that's a plus.

I was a winnner in that contest too . They're all nice people and when I found that I had a bad DVI adapter in the 5700 Ultra (that I won that day ) They sent me one without a hassle, and I recieved it in two or three days (via UPS ground which is a feat in itself). Not bad for a toll-free call at 1:40 AM on a freebie...

Yes but my box had no Call Of Duty inside and no sticker outside saying I would get one anyways so emailed their Marketing Department . They are sending me a copy! All I had to do was scan my Frys receipt and send the .TIFF image along with my address and phone #. Thanks BFG and Anandtech hot deals!

Just bought one of these at Fry's last night for $199. Overclocks like a champ. Of course I didn't know about the Nvidia and BFG deal where specially marked boxes will have the full edition of COD in. Mine didn't. So it looks like I will have to email BFG's marketing department as well.

I called the fry's here in WA state and the computer supervisor stated that they have not received their shipment of these special boxes in yet.
