If you live near a Fry's and need a receiver, keep an eye on the Yamahas. They appear to be slowly clearing them out, probably to make room for new models. They've been putting one or more on sale each week and the prices are gradually getting lower. They did the same exact thing late last year with the old line of Harman/Kardon receivers.
Yamaha makes very nice receivers; generally speaking, they are very well constructed and produce quality sound.
For an example of the types of sales they're having, this morning's Oregonian listed the Yamaha HTR-5550 on sale for $197, whereas it would cost at least $300 shipped from online vendors. I've seen the 5540 and 5560 on sale recently also.
Anyways, just a heads up to keep an eye on the Fry's ads if you're looking for a receiver.
