So there is no way to tell which cpu you got until you open up and run it? What heatsink is good for this ECS/2400+ combo?

No, u can right right away...the oem cpu from fry's is packaged in a clear plastic case. I was able to tell when the cashier handed the cpu to me

OEM processors do not come with heatsinks. You're better off buying your own when you're there. For light operations, no OC, just pick up a Volcano 7 while you're there. I do, however, recommend the SLK800 and a YS-tech fan from SVC.

OEM processors are packaged in a clear plastic mold, so just before you hand over your CC, ask to see the processor first to identify it, then if it's not what you want, ask for a different one.

if you're planning to overclock, then i would recommend getting artic silver 3 there too (svc has them cheaper if you want to wait).
if you're not going to overclock, then you can just use the thermal paste that's included with the V7

JFYI, all 2400+ are Tbred Bs.

if u do'nt plan to overclock then this board is more then fine. it's a stable no frills budget motherboard. there's a whole guide over at ocworkbench on it.

you have no freakin idea what deals u guys have been getting from past few months

u lucky baskets , I called couple of times to SoCal frys asking them to PM ur price, and they were like no, look in the ad, it says only for those set of stores

can you imagine buying Polk R30 floor standing stereo speakers for $33 each ? or ask CircuityCity to PM it where they sell each for either 199 or 99, dependign on thier mood.

we SoCal's are being robbed, lol
