I've been lookin to pick up that Soyo-Tek Dragon+ mobo...does anyone know if you can buy the combo and return the CPU? and what the price of the mobo ends up being?

Was in Fry's the other day and the regular price for that mobo was $159 in the store. Pricewatch has it listed for $139...if i can save the shipping charges for about that same price....just might do it

just a thot...

just heads up and to let you all know....i've tried building that combo with XP 1800+ and it turns out Fry's always has some sh!tty stuff....or maybe i'm just unlucky! in one day i went to Frys about 4 trips and finally got that combo to work...if you guys want to build this system, you guys better get some awesome DDR memory....don't get those generic ones cuz they will never work with the system! so i finally got it work and my cousin returned it in a week cuz it keeps on crashing! the first time i went back to return it and they said the CPU is not working and the mobo WAS working but has BIOS problems....then then i exchanged it and i told myself i might as well asked those people to test it there first to make sure it works b4 i go back to my house.....the first mobo they tested there didn't even boot up but the new cpu worked! so they had to get a new board for me and they tested again and it worked, but only with CORSAIRS memory and not with generic memory. so they tested a new board again to make sure it works with generic DDR memory cuz i already bought one! So they did and it finally go to the BIOS screen and so i was happy and i took it home....so i installed it and it worked and my cousin took it to school for like a week and he said the comp keeps on crashing....and i was like "F#@!k it and jsut return it!" and so he did and that was the story i thought i should share!

alas, no dragon+ mobo and xp 1900+ retail combo in the bay area. i stopped by the sunnyvale fry's on saturday and the guy said the combo would be about $459!!! i think they had a dragon+ and xp 1800 oem for about 359. anyways, i've been hearing a lot of problems lately about the dragon+ on these boards. it seemed to be confirmed when i noticed all of the dragon+ mobos on the lower shelf were returned items (about 15-20). they had a large stack on the upper shelves, but i couldn't tell whether those were returned items. makes you wonder what's going on.
