It is a well know fact the they deal mostly in bootlegg dvd's. You can check animeondvd.com for a listing of the more known sites that sell the stuff.

as for the anime, i liked it a lot, the concept was cool enough, and for the record:

there are 4 games in the .hack series. .hack//infection is part 1 of 4, and it's got a quirky premise of playing an mmorpg called "the world"
.hack//sign is the first anime, and the second one is called .hack//Legend of Twilight's Bracelet

the anime had an awesome soundtrack. the storyline went well untill the end. didnt particularily liked how they ended it.

.Hack is pure ownage. the anime rocks.. the ova rocks... the manga rocks.. now finally i'll beable to play the damn game.


btw its not a marketing overkill like pokiemon or gundam. The series (as seen on toonami now) is the first part of the arc and covers an incident inside the game, all as it happens inside the game. It centers around the character the incident happens to. The ova (which comes with the game) is purly a story arc that happens outside the game. It is 4 ova's long and covers a group of people, one of them being a girl out of 3 who fell into a coma while playing in "The World". They try and disect what the world really is from the real world.

The game, and the manga (which is now turned into a currently airing SECOND series in japan) I belive are the same story lines, and are escentialy the end. A boy and his sister (who live in seperate houses now) win premade "uber" characters once owned by a pair of elite players. The girl is a kind of power gamer but the boy dosnt quite "get it" and quit the game before hand, but is dragged in once more by his sister. Shortly after how ever strange things happen in the world, and a mysteriouse girl ingame bestows a bracelet to him that gives him special game altering abilities. The manga and anime versions take place in and out side of the game in real life, but the game just limits you to browsing bulitin boards and emails when you are not "logged in"

if you read above, i didn't quote, but noxipoo was saying that deepdiscountanime was a bootleg site. i assumed that it was deepdiscountdvd. anyway, i should've put that other name on there, but the deepdiscountanime site doesn't even exist..
