Fsck! That's just...YECCCK!

So, I have a bit of a "cold". My throat is sore as hell, I usually have a headache, and my nose was slightly plugged.

I wake up this morning, grab a Kleenex....and blow. I feel something, way up in my nostril...you know, like something wants to come out and is tickling slightly. So, I plug the other nostril, and try to get it out. Nothing...nothing....still nothing....then I give it a good kick of air.

KUCHAMMMM!

YYYYYYYYECCCCCKKK!!!!

It was around 1/2 teaspoon, a yellowie-greenish brown(Is that possible? heh...), and was HEAVY, slimey, and held together like damp paper.

Needless to say, my right nostril is now empty. My left one, however, still has ish in it.

THAT was quite possibly the biggest, nastiest snot rocket that I've ever blown out of my schnoze.

I would post pics, but I would probably be banned because it so bad.

Discharge in color may mean infection. One blow of it probably doesn't mean much, but if the yellow-brown persists, I'd see a doc and get some antibiotics. Especially watch out if it turns - ugh - green.

I second the recommendation that you see a Doctor,left untreated sinus infections can become chronic and you can get into some serious problems, I speak from experience here.

Besides...I'll have to go and find that lead kleenex in my garbage can, and I don't have any intentions of doing so.

I have been blowing hoards of clear snot out of the left nostril, and now some out of the right nostril, too. That has been the only brwon thing...

Hehe, when I worked in a powerplant I got a lot of lime dust in my sinuses. After a year and a half of that, my sinuses started to "rot" and I was getting a lot of sinus infections.

As a result, I was blowing snot slugs like that multiple times a day for 2 1/2 years. :Q My doctor was about to cauterize my sinuses when I managed to get another job where there was no lime dust. After a month of no lime exposure my sinuses started to heal and I stopped having this problem. Thank god.

I just filled up 3 more Kleenexes with snot. THere is another, huge, nasty lump stuck up in my nostril...the left one, this time. I can feel it, but it just won't come out.
