What exactly is the difference, if any, between a Flast Screen Tube monitor,and a regular flat-screen CRT ?

CRT being a Cathode Ray Tube, I suppose you're talking about the same thing.

It's just that I did a search on AT, and this came up:

This is a flat square tube, not flat screen. There will be some curviture

What is the context?

There are three accepted terms:

1. CRT (standard tube)
2. Flat - Screen (Standard CRT tube with a perfectly flat front, no fishbowl effect)
3. Flat - Panel (an LCD screen that is only a few inches deep)

So Flat screen tube monitor probalby is a standard CRT monitor with a perfectly flat (like a mirror as opposed to a fishbowl) screen.

Yup i have a Flat CRT monitor and it's great. I love it any decent Flat CRT can look pretty good and be easy on the eyes just as a LCD of the same price (like a $300CRT vs same price LCD)

nonono there is no standard for how flat the surface of the tube really is. don't believe anything monitor manufacturers say about CRT's with "flat screens". In fact, on Samsung's site about the 700IFT, they have a big piece of text about how other manufacturers lie about having flat CRT's and that the 700IFT truely is completely flat. well guess what? I have a 700IFT and it ISN'T FLAT!!!! there is still a slight curvature. I will reiterate: don't believe anything those scumbags say. read a review that affirms the screen is COMPLETELY FLAT before buying. such CRT's do exist.

that is true, I meant that was the generally accepted terminology, not that you should blindly believe the packaging. I agree with dpopiz, don't just buy, be very careful. I have had my Viewsonic PF790 for years now and I still love it. Great monitor and perfectly flat.
