I have the following problem and was hoping someone might be able to help:
I have a scanner that has the ability to scan to FTP (It does not have the scan to network option). I have set up a static IP address (call it 192.168.1.110) on a computer on my network for it to scan to. The scan goes to the computer, however, here are the problems I am having:
1.) I have to use a program on that computer called BPFTP server in order for the scan to go through
2.) Even though the scan goes through to the computer, the machine never recognizes that it goes through and it sends the file twice before "giving up" and terminating the transfer
Is there a better way to "set up" a computer as a FTP server so I don't need this software? Also, I have been told that the problem with the scanner not recognizing the scan went through is because there is nothing communicating with it. I have to believe that there is something I'm missing and that there has to be some windows / third-party software solution.
Just to note, the only reason I've "set up" this FTP is for the scanner. I have no desire in being able to access my files remotely or have it public.
You can probably imagine I am not the most computer savvy person but I am decent with networking and if you are able to point me in the right direction I can probably go google and figure out what to do.
