Well, duh... Hybrids work best in city driving, where the stop and go driving gives the regenerative braking a chance to charge the batteries and run the electric motor. Taking a road trip with mostly highway driving is kinda silly, since the hybrid will be running off the gasoline motor all of the time.

Not only that, but it varies by area. Often diesel is the same as regular unleaded in my area.
