My 92 ford explorer with a 4.0 liter pushrod v6 gets 20-22 on the highway which is pretty good for a v-6 SUV.

Well, if he only does city driving and thinks he's doing screen tests for Faster And Even More Furious, then sure, anything can give crappy mileage.

My friend has an Audi 2.0L turbo diesel - it gets close to 60MPG on long journeys when he drives carefully. This said, even thrashing it around town it rarely drops below 45MPG.

This is my problem. My wife and I both have civics but I only get around 200 miles to the full tank where she gets around 350. I only drive about three miles one way to work on all city streets and she drives about 40 which is mostly all highway.

My 1995 Toyota Corolla consistently gets 35MPG. The record, which I set just today, is 37MPG. Kick ass that I can fill up my gas tank with less than a $20 bill

Yep, but Jeep is bringing a Liberty to market, and Honda introduced it's first ever passenger diesel in Europe.

There'll be more to come, and I think the diesel hybrids will be an interesting vehicle if they ever get made for the US

<shrug> my '88 Corsica 2.8L V6 pushrod managed 33mpg on the last highway trip...shes got around 180 000 miles.
