These use the Taiyo Yuden dye, and will burn at 16x in an NEC 3500AG with modded firmware. They're a great deal, but make SURE you buy the ones that are clearly labeled: "Made in Japan." That's the Taiyo Tuden.

I bought these discs a while back when BB had this sale and I couldn't be any happier with the discs. Burn perfectly on my NEC 3520A at 16x even though the discs are marked 8x. And yes, make sure they're made in Japan (probably have a rounded off plastic top).

are u sure...cuz mine that i got from that old deal only burns at 12x and they are rated at 8x like these

i remember in the old thread that people said 12x too...u'd be the first to get 16....

Yep, I got a 100 pack of Made in Japan Fuji's from BB six months ago for $34.99 and they've given me absolutely no problems burning at 16x even though they're only rated for 8x.... (Didn't even have to update the firmware of my burner either)

Read before you are sarcastic to someone elses post. He said 20 for 19.99 is almost as good as the 100/35$. He was right!

On these disks just make sure they are MIJ. Both the DVD-r and +r are good, as i have used both.

At my store, the dvd -r's were made in taiwan but the dvd +r's were made in japan. The dvd -r's were tagged as 19.99 but the dvd +r's were not. The +r's did ring up correctly for 19.99.

Unfortunately, the dvd-r's at the Pasadena location are all "fabrique a Taiwan." They have a bunch of them and I looked at every single package, all the same. Argh! I didn't check the dvd+r's, though. I guess I will just have to pay a little bit more and get them from rima.com. By the way, the ones at Best Buy Pasadena were 8x, and they did not have the sale price marked on them (said $39.99). Rima has 16x TY's for $50/100.
