The Best Buy in Rancho Cucamonga has lots of both "+" and "-", but the "-" are all Tiawan and the "+" are all Japan. All are 8x. They are $19.99 in the ad and ring up correctly. So I got the "+".

Now to see if I can back up Mr. 3000, two previous attempts have failed.

Hmmm, I'm down to about 40 from the last time I jumped on this deal. Looks like it's time to go shopping again!

I don't know why people keep pushing the Velocity disks as a deal. Those disks are a gamble because you're not guaranteed to get MIJ disks.

bought these about 2 weeks ago. rated 8x, but burns at 16x on my NEC 3520A. Mine are made in japan (TY) and have no coasters so far.......very reliable. I might go pick up another 50pk.

Sorry for the delayed reply... just go to:
rima.com
and click on the link for the dvd-r's, then sort by brand. They have several types of TY blanks starting from I think $43/100 for the 8x. I've bought quite a few cd-r's and dvd-r's from them as well as slim jewel cases and they are very dependable.

these with the "MADE IN JAPAN" over the UPC will be about the best dvdr you can get. and they are cheap too.

i bought a 25 pack for $10, burn like 15 dvds that night, then went back and bought 3 more packs the next day. i have never had 1 problem with the dvd+rs and i am like 50 dvdrs into my stash. BUY THESE. TY Fuji's are crescent fresh.

This seems to be the usual price as Best Buy. When I first got my DVD burner in December, I bought my discs at BB, and they were this price. I went today, and they were still this price. I got DVD-R discs and they were TY. The ones I got in December were DVD+R but were also TY.

This is NOT the usual price for these at BB. About once every 2-3 months they go on sale for this price.

I went down to BB as soon as I saw the ad. A week before they had these at regular price and they said "Made In Japan." When I went Sunday, they said "Made In Taiwan."
Don't know if they were TY since they weren't made in Japan. I thought it rather odd that when the sale came along the 50's were Taiwan but a week earlier the 50's were Japan.
I passed. Can anyone verify these are, indeed, TY? I find it a ripoff to have the Japan
a week earlier and then the sale comes along and they are Taiwan. I spoke to a sales rep...who replied "Huh?." Intelligent...

Thanks.

At the Pleasanton, CA BeastBuy, the +R's were Made in Japan while the -R's were made in Taiwan. I've been a Taiyo Yuden faithful follower for years with the CDR's and the DVD's but the last two 25 disc spindles of +R's from Fuji that were MIJ-TY's have been crap. They all burn fine but many of them play 2/3 of the way through and lock up. I have never before had this problem and it is only happenning with these disks. I have other brands, (Verbatim, Sony, and some Shop4tech cheapies that work fine). I think there must have been a bad batch or something. I bought these at Beastbuy around 4-5 months ago and have just gotten around to using them. I should buy a batch of these newer DVD+R's and try again.

i prefer the Sony 8x Made in Japan DVD+R TY, i think they're better than the FujiFilm Made in Japan 8x DVD+R TY's.
