Fuji DVD+R 50-pack for $74.99 After Instant Rebate ...

Just saw this deal in the weekly Best Buy flyer for next week (starting from tomorrow - Sunday, June 22nd):

They are selling Fuji DVD+R 50-packs in-store for $74.99 after instant rebate - it usually sells for $99.99. These are the disks shown on the Best Buy web-site:

Does anybody know anything about the quality of these Fuji disks? I have tried Verbatim, Memorex and KHyperMedia DVD+R media in the past, and they all seem to be pretty good.

I believe Fuji makes great DVD+ and -Rs, so this deal is pretty good. Too bad you have to buy a 50 pack.

I bought three 25packs of Fuji the last time they were on sale and haven't had any problems with them, nor with getting the rebates (although this deal appears to be rebate-free). I have the HP DVD200e external DVD+R/RW recorder and have also used these in a set-top Phillips DVDR985A without any trouble.

My main reservation here is the price. This is about the same going rate as two of the 25 packs. Sam's Club has decent prices on jewel-boxed Verbatim DVD+R 12-packs that aren't much more--about $1.50 each.

Also, IMHO, the FujiFilm blanks are kind of ugly. Big block lettering without a whole lot of space to write.

Saw another good deal in the Circuit City flyer today - they are selling a Memorex Combo Pack of 3 DVD+Rs & 3 DVD+RWs for only $9.99 after a $10 mail-in rebate:

I have used Memorex discs before, and they seem to be pretty reliable - so, I am surely getting myself one of these.

tell me about it. I boutght the -R drive ebcause the -R media was 1/2 price of the +R stuff. I am thinking baout getting a +R drive to add to my -R so I can use whatever is on sale. 100 dvd's and I will pay for the 2nd drive the way I am going.

Nice DVD+R that burns @ 2.4X (22 minutes) with my Sony DRU-500A (2.0f). Burned/copied several of my DVDs and had no problem playing in my DVD player.

This does sound like a good deal, since i can use the RWs for computer ghosting.

Target has 20 pack TDK DVD-R or DVD+R for $29.99. Same $1.50 a disk w/o any rebate.

It might be a better deal if you want to spend less at once.

I have never used TDK DVD disks before but they should be good given TDK is a one of the most reputable Japanese audio and digital media companies.

I'll probably still buy the Fuji discs from Best Buy, since I have a $20 Gift Card from them. They will finally cost me $1.10 per disk before taxes.

Both FUJI and TDK discs are made in Taiwan now. I went to my local Target and Best Buy and these are all made in Taiwan.

I picked up the last two 20 packs of +R's (4x) at my Target. There were tons of -R's on the shelf. Not bad at $1.50/disk with no rebates.

picked this up on Sunday. Yes they are ugly but for $1.50 for +R and no rebate it's a decent deal. They are made in Taiwan. Burned a couple last night at 2.4X and they're fine.

I've got a 4x (2.4x RW) + drive coming that I need to pick up some disc for before it arrives. I found a good deal on some Verbatim 30 disk 1-2.4x disc at Sams for only $45.99. Are these Fuji disc only 2.4x also? Can these disc be burned at 4x. Most of the disc i've seen are 2.4x rated, but can any be used to burn higher?

FYI you can get 30PK's of Verbatim's for $48.76 + Tax at Sam's Club. After taxes it is about the same deal. Between $1.63 and $1.70 / disc.

Target's TDK DVD-R are either made in Japan or Taiwan. From what I could tell, those in the larger spindle case were made in Japan, while ones in the smaller/shorter spindle case were made in Taiwan.

Their DVD+R were both made of Taiwan regardless of the size of the spindle case.
