Ok I only see Fuji 2.4X DVD+R. Are these suppose to burn at 8X.. more important will they burn at 8X in an NEC 2510A?

I went to my BB this morning and picked up 2 boxes of +R (Sku # 25302250) for $19.99. I like TY so I got the Made in Japan's, but there were a couple Tawain's on the shelf as well.

I have a 3500 so how are you getting these to burn at 16X. In DVD shrink the max burn speed setting is 6X setting manualty and if you set it to maxium I get 8X burns on all my teon cheap media. Is it because of the cheap media or are you using Nero directly and burning the files directly from the folder they are ripped to?

TO2 8X burn at 16X everytime on my Plex 716 and Pioneer 108, using Nero 6.6.0.5

Got in on the fujis. My store had tons all made in Japan. Picked up one + and one - as I am not sure when and if I would want one over the other.

I can confirm, just tried and Japan Fuji's burn flawlessly at 16x in nero

what do you mean by flawlessly..I have a BenQ 1620 and the TY02 burn very nice at 16x esp when I do Quality scan ..however supposedly they burn with higher quality at 12x...

To me; flawless = no errors and as close to 16x as i've gotten

Aphex..by errors do you mean bad files...

all scans will have some errors..I am very impressed that I can burn these at 16x but supposedly at 12x they are awesome burn quality on my Benq per reports at clubfreaks

Picked one of these DVD+R Fuji babies yesterday in Chicago (North & Clybourn). Bought one made in Japan, but saw many more (at least two others) that were also made in Japan. Did not check the DVD-R's though.

There were a lot of Japan made DVD+R's, but DVD-R's that were made in Japan were rare. I'm going back, no one go to the BestBuy in Porter Ranch!

off topic, but just curious. has anyone heard of TYs being made in Taiwan? because i'm holding on to some DVD-Rs that are TYs, but are made in Taiwan.. it's not a fuji brand, just some generic. i thought it was interesting, and wonder if they are as reliable as the made in japan TYs..

Most likely they are "fake" TY's. The company just puts the TY media code on them, so they will be burned using the burner's TY strategy, but they are not made by TY or up to their specs.

There is a thread or two at CDFreaks about these sorts of things. Lot's of good info in their forums.

They are not fake

TY T02 = +R labeled 8X
will burn up to 16X on latest burners and firmware
TY G02 = -R labeled 8X
will burn up to 12X on latest burners and Firmware

G02 is kinda generic term - the TY is the important part
