My first digital camera. Still learning about it, but I found it very intuitive, so was able to start taking pictures right away. Once we found the highest resolution setting, I was very pleased! Great for sending photos over the net. The color seems to be generally quite good. I would recommend it!

Im happy with my fuji(a 2.1MP model), but you may want to think about pricing the 2MP (and up) models now as prices have gone down.Youll get a nicer pic if you plan on printing photos.

I agree with Orlando Tiger. Especially with it being refurb'd.

This is the same FinePix that came free with Windows XP at Staples last year, and I thought it was a little "plasticky." I gave it to my lil' brother. 1YP

i had a 1300, and currently have a 2600z

the 1300 was a pretty poor camera ... everything was blury or artifacty ... and digital zoom is pretty bad.

I was skeptical about getting a 2600z since it probably shares a decent amount with the 1300, but i was dead wrong .. pics are much clearer etc... hence i kept the 2600z


I know your saying .. but the 2600z costs 90 bucks more .. my advice would be get a 2mp camera ... of an advantex 35mm film camera 1mp cameras are really just glorified webcams and youll never be happy with the quality. 2mp cameras is probably the line where they are "good enough to start using".

FYI -- digital zoom is useless. It's the equivalent of using 2x magnification in the photo program on your computer.

I appreciate your contribution to the board for the most part but it looks a little lame when you put a list price that is obviously MEGA-INFLATED to make a deal look better than it really is...its actually doing more of a disservice to the users.

IMHO,
This is NOT a deal. Got this camera from Staples when WinXP came out for FREE. And about 6 weeks ago CompUSA had it for $89.00 (which was a good deal). This price is really what anybody would expect to pay for a 1.3Mp, no Optical Zoom camera.

By the way, I found the picture quality of the 1300 to be excellent. I hated selling it, but no optical zoom. I now have a Fuji 2600 and Olympus 2100UZ ( oh baby what a zoom......10x optical ).

The Finepix 1300 takes pretty nice pictures for the 1.3mp range. It's actually an excellent camera, but it (mine anyway) will not work with Windows XP via the USB cable supplied. I personally couldn't understand the need to take higher quality pictures than this camera is able to unless they were for some professional use.
