Nice price =) though I just got a Nikon 950 a few months ago back.. haven't read any reviews on this one. Anything that makes it stand above the rest?

You can find a damn good review on www.dpreview.com They actually do compare the nikon 955 to the 6800z. Fuji basically has really really good color saturation and their special SuperCCD technology which they advertise to extrapolate from 3.3 Megapixels to 6 Megapixels. There have been some mixed reviews about that number. Hope that helps

Well, shipping for expresscameras.com is ~$30 for cheapest ground. Not great. So it would take the camera up to $600 and then you deduct $50 for coupon. So $550 before tax.

Called compdirect and was told they're out of stock on the 6800's. They said that they'd get more in stock in about a week. As far as shipping, he quoted me $24.

I tried to get Staples to match extremeshopper.com ($569 + $16.85 shipping) and expresscameras. Both times he came back and said that because their warranty is 'international' that the product is not identical so they won't match.

Tried another CSR - she says it has to go through her supervisor and then to 'Corporate' for them to authorise. They won't respond until tomorrow. They may call me or I can call back.

I'm not holding my breath on this one.

Yes, it did work!!! It just took two days to wait for the response from corporate. Good thing I placed my order first, because it seemed like Staples took down the product from their website! I noticed this yesterday. I guess Staples figured that not many people ordered because of the "corporate" answer CSRs gave so they allowed this. Thank you very much cipherTxt for the original post!
