I'm surprised this hasn't been posted yet...

I can't believe you would, but if you've missed all the previous TY deals and still need more Taiyo Yuden CDR's, then here you go:

Circuit City is selling the Fujifilm 50-pack 80 minute CD-R for:

$24.99
- $5 Mfr. MIR
- $10 Circuit City MIR
----------------------------------
= $10 + tax

The SKU listed on the Sunday flyer is 25301475. When you look up the SKU on the Internet, it says 16x. But don't worry, from all reliable sources, the Fujifilm 16x and the Fujifilm 24x are really the same thing, just repackaged.

Good luck!

bump for great CDRs.

I got in on the "free" Fuji's after MIR and PM to BB about a month ago from CC, but if you still need TY's, then this is about the best price you will find after MIR.....I don't know when the planets will align again to give us free TYs. Still haven't gotten my MIRs back though yet.

Pretty good deal. These are probably FujiFilm CDRs, which, if made in Japan, are most likely Tayio Yudens. I'm going to pick up 2 packs tomorrow, so I'll let you know.

Oh- Got a question: Since there are two MIR, a copy of the UPC code is ok right? Actually that's what it says on the rebate form, but I just want to check w/ people who have done it before.

Also, for 2 packs, I should probably get 2 receipts (and 2 mailing addresses) since it says limit 1 per household. Any thoughts?

Thanks.

I picked these up to go with my free 50-pk. spindle from Fujifilm a long time ago. They are indeed Taiyo-Yudens. Now I have 100+ TYs to use when I want to backup important data! Or mp3s, heh.

Are these the colored or non-colored silver/blue media? Fry's Electronics have the non-colored silver/blue Fuji's for $19.99 and the colored ones for $24.99...PM at CC, maybe get them for $5. Just a thought. And yes, made in Japan.

BTW, what is the preferred media color to have? silver/blue....gold/green....silver/black...etc.

I love these cdrs but beware if you are using a plex 241040..and they say 16x...the plex will only write at 16x...I had a liteon that burned these all at max speed no matter 16x or 24x...but the plex is picky it will slow to 16x on rebranded 24x....so beware...

the Fujifilm where the label is 1-24x(no sticker placed over it will burn at max speed)

This is a great deal again

There is also a good deal on 50pack Verbatim 24x from BB...$27.99-$11IR-7MIR=$9.99

how good are those verbatim discs...? they are manufactured by mitsubishi... cyanine (type 2)... they're gold/green as far as i remember...

does anyone know where that page is that used to have a huge database of cdr media, complete with dye types and qualities, overburn sizes, manufacturer info, etc... anyone..?

The Verbatim cds are great! I've never used anything but Verbatims and Fuji. I love them both. NOt a single problem with either.

yeah but is there a significant difference between boxed verbatims and spindle verbatims...? i've used boxed verbatim discs before and i agree, they're good media. nice deep blue... but these spindled ones are gold/green, probably a different dye-type altogether, which means they're not the same discs as the boxed ones... just curious...

Got mine (Fuji's), though I wish they'd post a "1 per household" notice at the shelf so I don't have to ask 'em at the register.

Thanks again for the post!!

you are not saving that much time by burning 24x as oppose to 16x. In the beginning, the burn speed is set at max of 16x anyways.

Picked up the last one at the CC in Emeryville, CA - the outer packaging was a bit torn, but the rep made a note of it on the receipt to ensure that the rebate goes through.
