Fujitsu or Samsung hard drive

I have to decide whether to buy a Fujitsu or a Samsung hard drive

They are the same price and I have used both before. They both never give me any problem.

Any suggestions just based on the brand.

The one I am looking at is 40GB 5400rpm ATA100

?, you got some weird favorites. I think most of us here stick to WD, Quantum, or Maxtor.

the decision is based on price only. I have to build a system for someone who don't want to spend extra $10 for Maxtor or WD

I've had no problems with Samsung as well. Also, Samsung might be a great choice because their newer model (I can't remember the name) is one of the quietest drives ever.

I just replaced my WD400 with a Fujitsu, and couldn't be happier. I've never used a Samsung. Didn't even know they made drives.

Get a Maxtor, very cheap and much faster.

But if you insist, either Fujitsu or Samsung will satisfy whoever you need satisfied. They both make good quiet slow drives.

I have had very poor experiences with all Samsung drives (HD and CD). I would not recommend them. They seem to use very unreliable motors.

Samsungs are very good.

on the other hand i had to replace a Fugitsu 3 times because of bad sectors.

Stay away from Fugitsu if you can.

I had 2 Samsung hd's in raid0 a while back &amp; they worked very nicely &amp; dead silent too.

The ? ?old old? ? Samsung drives (200 ?500MB) were not that good, but I have heard nothing but good things about Samsung HD?s in the last 3 years. I have a 6.4GB Samsung in my Celeron 333 system (2.5 years old) that is still running great.

I had to RMA a 4 gig samsung drive 4x, died on me every 3-6 months.
