The Kunark expansion was awesome. There are a ton of quests to do simultaneously and get lots of exp and stat. My guild even has a Kunark task guy in the guildhall to pick up city tasks for Kunark. I pretty much did 67 to 78 with my Wizzie in the Kunark zones and am now ripping through them again with my Conj. I just did a new quest in Fens that ended up giving me an awesome mount with a 55% speed increase and some nice bonuses too.

Just got an email from mmorpg.com saying this is a bonus weekend for those that dont know. Wonder if I will be able to jump from 72-80 in one weekend?

Do you have any of those veteran reward blessed potions of experience? Get all that stacked together and the leveling should go quick. I think realistically you can probably get 3 or 4 levels but you would have to devote some serious playtime to get 8 levels. I get a bump (I think 10%) for having a level 80 toon on my account which will help me out. My conj is close to 77 so I am hoping I can get enough playtime to get at least 79 by Sunday.

Just logged in and it starts at 4PM PDT today and goes until 10AM PDT Monday

The levels from 70-80 go a lot slower than the earlier levels.

Well if I wouldnt have been doing soo many other side things I would have done it. I went from 72-76 and took my characters sage level from 55-65, and then started on the village of shin stuff. Did my first set of shard runs so I now have 7 shards but im still completely confused on how the gear etc works. My guild leader let me know that she can make the T1 and T2 sets for cheaper than the vendor sells them for but im still trying to learn how it all works.

Also I thought I was done with kylong but aparently not. Aparently the quests truely never end in Kylong do they? Have done 90 quests there thus far not including the writs and still going.

On a side note they did something in the last hotfix that completely messed up necromancer pets. I know they said that they only changed the appearance of certain pets but that is simply not the case. My pets now just randomly run off and attack things without being hit or being told to. My tank pet does not taunt or use any abilities at all and his power stays at full at all times. its really aggrevating to deal with but hopefully that will be fixed asap.

Well after a weekend of very little sleep and much effort on my part I made lvl 80 on my necro. Think i have done roughly half of the quests in fens now and im looking forward to finnishing that zone. I plan to start Jarsath Wastes after I finnish fens. Any suggestions on what faction to grind for good gear in the kunark zones for a necro / sage?

I haven't played in a year or 2, reactivated this weekend and have my lvl 54 bruiser.

After I reacquaint myself with the game where should I be going to level up? I was doing the sinking sands/pillar of flame quests before my little hiatus. Don't know if there is a better spot now.

Heres a few suggestions. I have not played your class but I assume that soloing should be fairly easy for you since your not one of the more group required classes. My personal suggestion would be Teneborus Tangle for as long as you can stand it and then Bonemire but its up to you and im sure that you will get many other suggestions. If you have a gluttany for punishment then you can also do loping plains but I'll warn you that place is an absolute swarmfest and you will most likely die quite a bit untill you get used to the zone.

Re: Halas

All the lore in-game says it was destroyed.

One of the books you collect pages for is sort of a diary of a man who rises in status to become the chief of the city.

He swears with an oath that he would never see Halas be destroyed again (first time was Orcs, which they warred against and took Halas back from them).

A shamaness/seer has a vision of Halas being destroyed, but he discounts it.

The end of the book he writes that he is old and can't see well anymore. He hears people / children being amazed at all the pretty burning lights in the sky.

His last words are to the effect of at least he can keep his oath of never seeing Halas destroyed again.

Even the raft that magically took you across the moat to Halas can be found as a wreck at the bottom of the ocean in Everfrost, and is mentioned in an in-game book.

The tunnel to Everfrost through Blackburrow that ultimately led to Halas is collapsed in Blackburrow.

I'm currently a WoW-er but might like to check this game out. Anyone here played both and able to make a comparison between the two?

Is that deal still up for getting a 14 day trial and then getting the full game + adds if you sign up for subscription?

What are the prefered classes or whatever for leveling? For reference on WoW I've got a Warlock (80) and a Priest (66) so I definitely prefer casters, with or without pets.

Well for casters you have many choices. For casters with pets you have Necromancer which is what I am, Conjurer which is high dammage caster with elemental pets, and 2 enchanter classes that I do not have much experiance with. For strait casters you have Wizard and Warlock with the differance being Wizard is burst dammage and warlock being dammage over time.

For healers you have eevn more choices. Main healers or clerics are Templars and Inquisitors. Secondary healers are Fury, Warden, Mystics, and Defilers.

You really do get a large variety in EQ2 and honestly I will tell you that one of the hardest things about this game is having just one character because they are all fun. If you want the buddy pass please let me know and I will shoot you the recruit a friend pass. I will just need an email address to send the invite to.

Be prepared though. To download the game client from scratch is going to take litteraly 24 hours no matter how fast of a connection you have. The patch servers are slow but the game runs smooth once you finally have it fully downloaded and patched.

Does anyone know how I can ping some EQ2 servers. I am keen to give it a try but I am in China and dont want to try the game if the lag is unplayable (WoW is unplayable )
