So 1 in 8 Americans, myself included, know not to eat at McDonald's after working there. I really don't care for burgers that are cooked on a griddle then placed on a tray lined with wax paper inside of a metal box that steams them with water and some other green chemical mixed in while the meat sits in a pool of its own grease before being served.

Hmm... no thanks.

Friend of mine who used to live up in the middle of nowhere said he had to drive 4hrs to the nearest McD's. Was kind of like a treat for them. They also used to bring back buckets of KFC and sell it at the local bar.

I used to like McD's as a kid but not as a teenager and into adulthood. I don't like griddle burgers. Too greasy and not enough flavour. Same reason I don't like Five Guys. I prefer sandwiches for fast food. Subway is probably just as bad for you but at least everything tastes a lot fresher.

My dad used to work there when he was in his teens. One of the first in Canada IIRC. Would have been the late 60s. It's still in the same location. Though now there's a Halal grocery across the street. How times change. One of my earlier memories was getting a Goomba toy in a Happy Meal. Guess I would have been about 4.

At least I can now say I'm part of the 1% for something.

I don't mind their food, only thing I avoid is the nuggets. I used to LOVE those till I got a bad experience and now I can't eat one without thinking about it. Not really sure what was wrong with it, but it tasted NASTY. I think it may have been undercooked or something. Perhaps it was on the side of the deep frier and fell in right as they were gathering them or something.

Any fast food is good in moderation, if you try to pull off a "Supersize Me" with ANY fast food place, it will get gross.

"Some other green chemical", spread more misinformation, why not? the steam is to help prevent patties from drying out and getting cold, ALL meat patties have some grease after cooking and OMG!!IT'S IN A GREASY PUDDLE OF IT'S OWN MAKING!!!, pussy you are..

Kids love McDonald's because of the toys and the Play Place. Teenagers love McDonald's because they can eat while they hang out. Adults go to McDonald's because it's where the kids beg to go. Old people go to Wendy's for the free coffee.

You forgot the free wi-fi.

Dang it!

You know, I never used it, but when we are in there with the kids there are at least two people in there with laptops on the internet. One time, it looked like it was actually being used for an interview.

McDonalds is my favorite fast food joint, with their breakfast being some of my favorite food period. I don't eat there often, but I thoroughly enjoy it when I do.

There regular coffee is awesome, probably my favorite, definitely better than Starbucks house coffee.

They actually offer healthy-ish food, which is more than you can say for BK. The southwest chicken salad is actually really good. And it's a salad, they can't add too much pink slime to it. And you can even buy *gasp* Fruit!

But I consider the double cheeseburgers my worst guilty pleasure. I know they are terrible for you, but goddamnit do they taste good. Not good in like a "fresh off the grill homemade burger made from top choice beef and fresh ingredients" kind of way, oh no no no. In the "I know I shouldn't be eating this but fuck all I'm going to anyway" sort of way.

Sausage & Egg McGriddle is the best breakfast.
Coffee, Fruit & Maple Oatmeal are good.

McDouble = 25g protein for $1
McChicken = use to make McGangbangs (stick a McChicken between the patties of a McDouble), also $1

20-pc nuggets = 44g protein for $5
Fries are surprisingly decent

McDonalds has its place, IMO. Just have to know what to order. Trying to bulk cleanly? Chicken salad, add 2x McDoubles without the buns. Cheap, loads of protein, no carbs.

Respectable protein numbers, but I'm sure they neglect the 1000mg of cancer causing garbage in those same products.

I think they changed a lot when they went from making them fresh to the Q machine.

Their Southern Style chicken sandwich is delicious.

I'll always have a place in my heart (and spot in my stomach) for their standard chicken sandwich too (especially at $1)...

and of course, I could never give up their Double Cheeseburgers.

omg it's quite literally crack. Is it the best burger I've ever had? Hell no. I barely even classify it as hamburger. It is, however, crack-fortified meat-like substance that lights up all the pleasure centers of the brain during consumption. And I'd pay about a buck for that. Perfect for when you are on the run and just need to get sustenance but don't care to research where better food joints are, and/or don't want to pay all that much.

McD's is like a two, maybe three times a month thing for me, at most. Perhaps not at all for a stretch of time.
Same with any other fast food. Taco Bell, Arbys... not often, but tasty enough for what they are.

+1

i may eat fast food once a week but i don't really mess with junk food like candy, chips, ice cream, etc.

McDonalds food isn't bad. It is what it is: fast food. They've engineered it very carefully to have a taste that is acceptable to the large majority of people in the places where they do business. It's not like it's even supposed to be the best burger around. It's the best burger that you can get in nearly every town in the U.S. in five minutes knowing it will always taste exactly like the last one you got in a town two hundred miles away. I don't think anyone would expect them to be more or less than that.

And for the record, the Black Angus 1/3 pound ain't bad at all as fast food burgers go.

I find that most of the time it tastes the same, but when it doesn't it's really off. The French fries are the worse as they either drown them in salt or use none.

i'd like to taste an original mcdonald's hamburger from the 1950's or whenever the first store opened. no not an actual 60 year old hamburger, but one made exactly the way they made it back then. probably tastes like five guys or something.
