Fun games...

I'm having a heck of a time trying to find a game I enjoy. I played FEAR and the single player was good -- the MP I think is horrid. So I play BF2 for my multiplayer killing... I do like FPS.

Sort of hoping QuakeWars when it eventually comes out will bring some new joy to my nights / weekends of killing. But what else is there? I've heard of 'Oblivion' but not sure about it... I know it's fantasy and probably Single player only. I bought Civ4 based on reviews but it was just to slow paced for my liking.

I feel like I'm going through a rough time right now for entertainment on the pc (or xbox for that matter). I'll sit down in front of the computer and fire up a game only to quit 5 min later out of boredom. *shrug* Tell me what to play!!

I got pretty bored with most of the PC games, even though it's my preferred platform. Ended up getting a cheap Xbox, then later a cheap PS2. It was just different, and fun. Picked up some games that I wouldn't think of wanting to run in a PC mindset, and had a good time with them. Now I'm back on the PC mostly, but those options are there too. Whole slew of titles out for those consoles, and many you can get quite cheaply used.

But if I had to tell you one PC game to try to break you out of your doldrums, guess I'd say Warhammer 40k Dawn of War. Download the free demo and see if it doesn't float your boat, I truly enjoyed it for a good long while, kind of itching to fire it back up again now that I'm typing this Anyhow, good luck with finding something fun to do with your recreation time. Maybe take a stroll through a mall, shopping district, hobby stores and see if there's something unplugged that catches your eye that you might want to try for a while.

edit: Ummm, ok, color me totally spacey for having missed that you had a console in your original post. Dunno, you might have to totally switch genres to get your groove back. RPG? Horror/survival? Flight/combat sim? Racing? Another I'd thought about firing up again is Jedi Knight: Jedi Outcast. Kinda dated by now, but it seemed to get the Star Wars feel right (compared to the far inferior but prettier Jedi Academy). Anyow... it's all up to you man. Plenty of good games out there, if none of it's working you just gotta take a break from it.

I'm an FPS guy too and I love Oblivion. First RPG I ever could get into.

Have you tried CoD2? It's fun for a while (I played it online every night for about 6 weeks then got bored).
