A lot of you have probably been wondering about the status on the fund to help Jeremy Allford (read my news post on August 20, 2000 for more information). Well, after about a month of working with the IRS, we've finally created the fund to help him and eventually others that are suffering from the unfortunate condition. As of September 19, 2000, the Anand Cancer Society Group, Inc., a nonprofit organization, has been formed and will begin accepting donations for Jeremy and his family immediately. We're still working on making the donations tax deductible, but for now they are not tax deductible. So if you would like to make a donation to Jeremy and his family, follow these instructions:
1) Make a check payable to Anand Cancer Society Group, Inc. and be sure to place For Jeremy Allford in the memo section of the check
2) Enclose your name and email address with the check, this is so we can contact you to let you know that we have received your donation and also so that Jeremy can contact you to send his thanks as well.
3) Send it to:

I'm going to be starting off the fund with a $1,000 donation to Jeremy and his family on behalf of myself, my family and the AnandTech team. And I encourage all of you to donate whatever you can, even if it is only a small amount as every little bit helps.
This is only the start for the ACSG, as I hope to expand this organization to one that can help others as well in the future. We are all on this planet together, so there should be a greater sense of community that what currently exists, we should help one another as much as we can. I'm more than grateful for the chances I've been given in life, but there are those out there that aren't even given a first chance to dream, it's our duty to give them a hand.
I wish I had the time to do more than I am now, but between college, AT, and attempting to maintain a healthy college life outside of class, it's not always possible. So let's allow this to be the first step in a progression of hopefully much bigger things.
