Yeah, that brings back great memories. Phil Hartman was just excellent.

The League was good for about 2 maybe 3 seasons. It was better in the beginning because most of the scenarios were plausible. Then it became so outrageous and farcical. Raffi made the show too horrible to watch.

I've started watching Parks and Rec on Netflix. I'm on episode 4 still waiting for anything, anything, something to be funny. At this point, I'm rather confused at how this show made it past an initial 6 episode pilot run.

EDIT: The first few seasons of The Office US was pretty good. When they absorbed the other branch it started to slide and then Michael left, and then ...

Parks and Rec takes a long time to find its stride. But once it does it's actually decent. Not as good as the Office but still worth watching if you like the style. As a heads up, it takes longer than one season.

I'll keep at it. It could be that part of my problem is that I have never liked Aziz Answorryimnotfunny.

To be upfront...it is not my favorite show (I like The Office 100x better). A lot of the characters actually annoy me (particularly Leslie and her eventual boyfriend). Rashida Jones is beautiful, but just not funny in this role. Aziz annoyed me at first...but grew on me.

The standouts are Andy (Chris Pratt) and Ron Swanson (Nick Offerman). A few of the other supporting characters have their moments too.

If it wasn't for Ron and Andy...that show would have tanked.

- Arrested Development (not Netflix addition)
- The Office (lost its way toward the end, but the first 5 or so seasons were gold)
- Cheers
- Cosby Show

I've really liked Silicon Valley so far...but nit ready to put it ahead of any of the above. If it continues its current quality, it would likely replace cheers.

Can't believe nobody has mentioned 30 Rock. It's easily top 5 for me.

Ron Swanson is 90% of that show. I also don't really like Aziz, but his character ends up being worth accepting with, his associations with John Francio or whatever his name is, and that other lady in the department. He has his moments, but that show is all Swanson.

Friends just isn't funny. Never was and still isn't. It's about as "funny" as The Big Bang Theory or Mike and Molly

All so subjective. Home Improvement, Last Man Standing, Brooklyn 99, How I Met Your Mother, VEEP..

You could basically list any sitcom that was decent enough to make it to three seasons and someone will say it's the best.

The only objective conclusion is that Seinfeld is the best but note that best does not always equal funniest. And OP does specifically state "funniest"
