Not sure MASH was ever "funny"...just more of an interesting watch. It's fairly unwatchable now if you catch reruns.

I think I ended up watching the entire series in reruns, in the last 20 years, and there were definitely times I laughed at it.

Of that particular list, only Cheers was worth watching.

Seinfeld I never did get...and actually grew to hate both the characters and actors to the point where having one in a show/movie kills any interest for me.

You crazy. It's Always Sunny has made me laugh so hard on various occasions.

i'd like to remind you that a sitcom is filmed in front of an audience. for example, blackadder is not a sitcom.

The live audience is not what makes it a sitcom, most laughter in "live audience" sitcoms is either prompted or a laugh track anyway.

I'd like to add Brittas Empire & Thin Blue Line to my list too, both great British sitcoms.

Monty Python is sketch comedy, a skit is something completely different. But yeah, MPFC is not a sitcom.

Fawlty Towers & Blackadder, both sitcoms. I do agree on Monty Python as that is a series of sketches, no matter how funny it is, it isn't a sitcom.

Parks and Rec takes a long time to find its stride. But once it does it's actually decent. Not as good as the Office but still worth watching if you like the style. As a heads up, it takes longer than one season.

To be upfront...it is not my favorite show (I like The Office 100x better). A lot of the characters actually annoy me (particularly Leslie and her eventual boyfriend). Rashida Jones is beautiful, but just not funny in this role. Aziz annoyed me at first...but grew on me.

The standouts are Andy (Chris Pratt) and Ron Swanson (Nick Offerman). A few of the other supporting characters have their moments too.

If it wasn't for Ron and Andy...that show would have tanked.

Agree with what everyone is saying about Parks and Rec. Ron Swanson is a great character.

Fight through Season 1, it will be worth it. Starting with Season 2, Parks & Rec really gets its feet under it. When Rob Lowe becomes a main character, the show gets the boost it needs to become a classic.

My List:
Parks & Rec (seasons 2-6)

So we are basically done with Parks and Rec and by "Basically Done" I mean we have made it a few episodes into season 7 and have wandered to something else to watch. I'm sure we'll get there and finish it but I'm in no hurry.

The show certainly did get better after Season1. Ron and April and particularly their interactions together absolutely make the show. I could deal with a show of just Ron, though it would be hard to accomplish.

I could do without Aziz and all of his cohorts John Ralpheo and sister whatever her name was. The character "Andy" was hit or miss for me. Sometimes it was brilliantly funny, other times I just couldn't be interested in him.

Some of the problem (read: my problem) is that I'm not a fan of "non-plausible comedy". Whenever a character is "too dumb" or not possibly realistic I stop appreciating that character. Something like The Office is plausible and was funny. The League was plausible until Rafi showed up and ruined the show with his "Nobody is possibly like this character".

Anyway, my final issue with Parks and Rec... At no time did I believe Leslie and Ben's marriage or "love". The actors never seemed compatible, the characters never seemed to love one another, every moment seemed awkward. It is what it is, but to me their relationship actually distracted from the show.

Anyway 6/10 It's something to watch if you've binged everything else.

Yeah, the woman that plays Leslie isn't a very good actress. I can't even remember her name right now. She's not great on P&R, though in sketch comedy she is quite funny.

Rafi was great in small doses. Two or three lines here or there and he was freaking hilarious. But they overdid that character big time. And giving two complete episodes to him and Dirty Randy was a joke.

Even on my rewatches of the show I still skip over those EPS. If he wasn't so ridiculously over the top it would have been a good character. But when you allow ridiculous characters into your story it breeds more ridiculous characters. Rafi to Randy to lane to the cheese fucker guy. All awful characters.

All so subjective. Home Improvement, Last Man Standing, Brooklyn 99, How I Met Your Mother, VEEP..

You could basically list any sitcom that was decent enough to make it to three seasons and someone will say it's the best.

The only objective conclusion is that Seinfeld is the best but note that best does not always equal funniest. And OP does specifically state "funniest"

HIMYM is the most overrated show in history IMO. According to Jim is better than HIMYM.
