Hey guys, I know I rarely talk in here, but I got a funny story

Ok, yesterday, (Monday), I got off school early because of finals (I'm in 10th grade). Anyways, I go over to my friend's place to go skateboarding. We are skating in his driveway and these kids in a car go by, flipping us off. They drive back again, we flip 'em off this time, they drive away. We go up to the basketball courts near his house, we are sitting on the front step of a building (It's a small marina). So the kids come back, and two get out, walk up to us, and start stuff. You know, askin us if we are stupid, and if we want to say sh!t again. He called me a leprachan(sp?) which was funny (I'm a redhead) lol. Well, we just leave 'em be. They go play basketball.

We'll we go back, and I'm skating in the basketball court and out of the middle of my eye I spot something shiny in the grass. ooooOO. I go over there, and it's a watch. Sweet. It's all heavy and stuff. I get home and look it up online, it's $120! LOL! It belonged to the kid who was starting stuff with me and my friend. Haha, what nice payback

If you want to see the watch, it's right here

The last day of school was today, so there is no way you guys can convince me to give it back

You ought to be ashamed of yourself. Despite the annoyance of being flipped off, that is absolutely no excuse to steal someone else's property. You're no better than they are, worse even, because being rude is not against the law, stealing is. :disgust:

Az: I know you have deep seated values, even to the extreme at times. But screw it, these guys started trouble for no reason....I would have crushed the watch and hung it on the antennae of their car for them to see when they got done playing basketball.

Nah, man, stealing is wrong. Give it back. Just make sure it isn't in the perfect working condition when you do

that story wasn't funny... it was in fact, pretty dumb.

I mean, boy pisses you off, you take his watch in return. where's the 'funny' part. and what you did was pretty low-ball. it's perfectly legal to piss a person off, but it's illegal to steal other people's belongings because he/she pissed you off. so you make the decision in whether your actions were justified.

anyway, tootaloo, I'm in the process of planning to steal Nokkin's watch j/k

The right thing to do is give it back. After you do, ask him if he feels like a d!ck now.

TRUST ME, that will be FAR more gratifying than just keeping the watch.

I betcha 100 - 1 Nokkin is only giving us half the story. I doubt someone would flip the bird for no reason and then take the effort to drive back and finally start up again.

No, DON'T give it back. I'm usually a morally sound and virtuous person but I also believe in Karma. Here you have the opportunity to be the appropriate administering agent for this kid's bad karma and therefore do whatever the hell you want with the watch. You can give it back to him but that won't teach him anything except that you're a nice guy and should be made fun of more. Do you really think that he can comprehend the honor behind that action and realize the error of his way? Heck no! Sell the watch and buy yourself something nice. Everyone gets what's coming to them.

Riiight. And when does it stop? Do we wait until everyone is d!king everyone else over before we realize it has to stop? Oh, wait... too late.

Give it back, and make the guy feel like an IDIOT for treating you bad. Not only will your morals be secure, but you'll actually teach him a lesson he wont soon forget.

Trust me, you'll feel better about it in the long run.

One more thing... If you keep the watch, he'll never know you got him back for being a jerk. If you give it back, and ask him, "so, do you feel like a d!ck now?" you'll definitely make him feel bad.

Man, I thought you guys had some sense of humor.

I WAS telling the whole truth, these kids are like that, they mess with me and my friends all the time. They stole my friend's skateboard, broke it in half, and left it in his driveway. His skateboard cost more than this watch. I had a horrible day also. I write the topic to let out some steam. Then you guys spit right in my face, telling me to grow up.

You guys are reading the story like I stole the watch right under their noses. No, they left it there, I happened to pick it up, and pocket it. Don't lie, you all would have done the same thing. I'm not even getting a birthday present this year because my dad doesn't think it's necessary. Birthday's in 6 days...

dude's got a killer timepiece way to go. I say keep it. We have become such p*ssies in this country, it used to be, if someone got in your face and disrespected you, you punch his lights out, now it's "can't we all just be friends." keep the watch.

Nokkin, who's lying? I'm telling you, giving it back and asking "who's the d!ck now?" will make you feel MUCH better than keeping the POS watch.

Nokkin: I'm sorry about your friends skateboard. These guys sound like genuine punks.

I'm also sorry about your bad day, and your birthday.

Happy Birthday early, btw!

Though I personally can't condone stealing (imho, you would be a better person for not stooping to their level), I will say I can understand why you did what you did, though that does not make it right. Was the skateboard incident reported to the police???

Just break their watch and leave it on their driveway.

If they saw you wearing their watch, I'd hope you have better transportation than a skateboard.

Weelll....about this being legal/illegal...

TECHNICALLY, he does NOT have to give the watch back, and it would be legal for him to keep it. he FOUND the watch in the grass, and the kid could not prove it is his watch. As far as I know, there is not a law where you have to give back something if you find it...even if you do know whose is was. THAT is the morally right thing to do, however.

Warcleric: GREAT IDE....errr...YOU should be ashamed, as well...
