Good stuff in there.

Customer: "I would like Adobe."

While not from customers, I hear this phrasing ALL the time:

Me: What were the files created in?
Dude: Adobe.
Me: /facepalm

I hate it when people use the word "download" for "install". It confuses the hell out of me when I'm trying to figure out what they're talking about.

It's still updated occasionally. I think the page in the OP was updated in the last 3-4 months, so if you haven't visited in awhile, go look.

I hate when people don't use the right terminology in general.

For example "I can't log in to windows" and you remote in and they're on some site trying to log in through a web interface for a different system. I'm so glad I'm not at help desk anymore... User stupidity was starting to drive me nuts. It's one thing to have a legit problem and not know what to do, and call us, it's another thing to not even be able to explain themselves properly. If my car is making a weird noise I'm not going to tell my mechanic I locked my keys in my car.

At least that's an easy one, since they pretty much always mean Acrobat of some sort.

My favorite interaction was this, after training a user on a new web app. Note that I'm standing right there.
Her: How do I get it in the stars?
Me: What?
Her: How do I get it to show up in the stars?
Me: Ummm, can you show me what you mean?
Her: The stars! You know, where <tool x> is.
Me: Can you click and show me?
Her: *Clicks Favorites in IE7*
Me: Ohhhh! *attemps to instruct her how to add a bookmark*
Her: Can you do it please?
Me: Sure. *Bookmarks* Do you use the stars at home too?
Her: No, I don't know how to put things in there.
Me: How do you surf the net?
Her: I click here *clicks URL bar* and everything I need is there.

So the woman has about five or ten sites in her recent history and exclusively uses her browser to surf those sites because she's not capable of bookmarking a page.

Try calling AT&T for any form of phone support. The people on the other side are so inept they will make you want to cry.

That's brutal. Then you go to clear the history/temp files while trying to fix some other issue and they freak out because "all my sites are gone!".

That's fine, as long as you KNOW how to bookmark and you also know how to get to your favorite sites if you delete your history.

I never use the URL bar.

My MO is:

Alt+Home -> www.google.com

Type in key word

Tab+tab+space ("I'm feeling lucky")

Straight to website

Very fast and works great.

"Anand" goes straight to Anandtech...
