I want to form a wiki-based community to refine a MATLAB simulation of muscle contraction I worked on last year. After reading literally hundreds of papers on the topic, I've realized that researchers are way too tied into their own little corner of the universe and this field especially could benefit by forcing researchers to consider their work in a larger framework.
The idea is that for calcium, for instance, there would be the main wiki page with links to interacting structure/molecules, but these would all also include relevant portions of code and/or parameter values. Hopefully I can also provide links to forum discussions of optimization and how important this or that aspect is in the results. (as it stands this thing will take forever to run) The process could be reminiscent of what goes on with hijack this logs, but hopefully more integrated and under sustained development.
So, I'm going to need an advanced form of version tracking and I'm not sure how sourceforge would work into this and the need to keep track of who is using what to do what.
Ideas, suggestions.... whatever appreciated.
