Whenever you all start to get your cards, if you are into overclocking, please let us know what sort of clocks you are getting.
Hopefully afterburner will be updated soon to unlock voltage control.
You aren't getting one (or two)?

I'm in. My 5870 has served me well for 2 years.
I'm going to wait and see how retail cards overclock before I think about getting one. If they are like the review samples then I'm in for one. I hope some aftermarket coolers come out soon since the reference design seems loud.
lol, you still cant accept that this was a paper launch even after the reviews told you? cards will be available January 9 so save your finger for more important tasks...I'm in... I've been refreshing New Egg along with a few other sites since 11:50 Wednesday night. My Finger is starting to cramp up

A 6970 isn't always enough for a 30" monitor. I just bought one with my Christmas bonus and found that I've had to at least turn off AA for some games and other I've had to turn down settings to keep it a native resolution.
You guys with powerful 68 or 69xx board have no reason to upgrade to a 79xx
You will not notice a difference in game performance with same settings.
Your getting 60fps already capped,, in BF3 MW3 , NFS RUN ,, how much faster you wanna go ??? Unless your obsessed with anti aliasing and wanna use 32xAA then ya maybe you need this upgrade LMAO

So, reviews are out on the 7970 and we know how it performs -- who's buying at least one (or trying to) on January 9?
I'm in for one
I was looking at mid 7xxx series crossfire to replace my existing 4890s(got 2 for $440 over about 3 months). Battlefield 3 (expansion city maps especially) is the first game to make me feel that they are not enough for 1900x1200 high settings in multiplayer.
My XFX 4890's heat sink is failing on an already hot running card. So I'm being forced to make a choice now and the 7970 with its good OC headroom seem like a solid long term choice @ the ~$500 range I was looking to stay in.

Everything this guy says is false, huge fail troll.
