Health care may be the best one. Demand should continue to go up and the hands-on stuff cannot possibly be outsourced.

True, but remember, labor can also be imported via work visas (ie, Phillipino nurses). Also, it's hard for any market to be completely insulated from the effects of Global Labor Arbitrage. After all, if your field is so good, you can bet that hordes of Americans will stampede to try to enter it and to compete for jobs with you, lowering the wages.

Just as a point...they are immigrating nurses because there is a HUGE need and Americans arent filling it. My mother has been an RN for 30 years and she just was hired with a $20,000 sign on bonus. Look at ANY major city at classifieds and how many are needed...and the perks of getting hired. Funny how immigrants are doing $40,000/yr + jobs Americans dont wanna do huh?

Like I said in an above post...it isn't that Americans don't want to fill it, but that there aren't enough nursing schools and instructors to keep up with the demand. I can't imagine there is a nursing school out there that isn't operating at full capacity.

Same goes for the other health professions.

Thats not entirely true. The problem is also a shortage of nursing admins and educators. Again, a job Americans dont seem to want to do. MANY 4 year nursing schools face serious shortages of staff. Which brings in education. Serious shortage there, too. Why Americans in risky professions dont want to get into one of the fastest growing industries as far as needs go is beyond me.

Uh, I said instructors in that post so you just backed me up. And we already know reason why there is such a serious shortage of educators. The RNs make more money outside of education. Its simple.

Again, there is no lack of American interest in the health care industry. There are just other problems.
