OP, it seems like you set yourself up for your situation - you were ready to return it the moment it failed you. Why didn't you just exchange it for a working model? That's like buying ram from Crucial, getting a bad stick, and calling Crucial a stupid company and never buying from them again. If Crucial had to test every stick of ram it'd end up costing us like $300 per stick instead of $80. Despite the hype, Apple is just like every other manufacturing company - they make electronic gizmos and not all are perfect. It's just reality. I'm really happy with my MacBook, maybe you should give them another chance
