I understand the opposite temperature logic, but I am talking about a wet towel! What are people supposed to use otherwise?

Umm a dry towel?
Oven Mitts?

You do know your more likely to burn yourself with a wet towel than a dry towel.

Who the heck uses a wet towel to move something hot? Doesnt make sense.

With the money you win in the settlement go back to grade school.

Wet towel = small amount of water that evaporates quickly cooling fast.
Just like when you get out of the shower walk into the hall and the thin layer of water on your body makes it freezing cold as it evaporates quickly.

Yes it was. Even with the towel the tray was friggin hot.

EDIT: Ok, so are guys saying the manufacturer is not liable at all? My gf was telling me that she does the same thing with her Corning glassware and never had a problem

unless the manufacturer had some sort of note that the glassware was heat resistant, you wouldnt' have much of a case. some glass is meant to be heat proof, like stuff for labs... I've seen some of that broken before, but that was because it went from 1500 or so degrees celcius to like 30...

by the way, greetings all, and sorry for my horrible spelling.

Apparently you should pick up some silicon nitride cookingware. It withstands extreme thermal shock with nary a flinch.

Not only that, but a wet oven mitt conducts heat very nicely and will burn the contents (your hand) even more nicely.

I think you have your answer. The problem wasn't with Anchor Hocking.

Yeah, I think even CorningWear will shatter when subjected to extreme opposite temperatures...though I could be wrong. That stuff is tough.

isaacmacdonald: thanks for backing me up.

...a dry towel perhaps?
