Alot of recent games support widescreen modes, and the player can actually see more information (as opposed to strecthing the image) as a result of the greater viewing area. It does provide a distinct advantage (greater peripheral vision) in FPS games. So buying a widescreen CRT or LCD would acutally be a good idea.

If the game doesn't support widescreen, this monitor can still play it in "square" mode or whatever. You'll just have black bars on the side.

(i just want a big azz'd screen (crt since LCD's cost way to much atm) like a 20+)

The FX55 runs at a stock speed of 2.6 or 2600.
The FX53 and 4000+ run at a stock speed of 2.4 or 2400

Now, many will tell you to buy a lower end chip, like a 3200+ and OC it up to a 4000+ level. Yes, that can be done. But at the same time, if you start off with an FX53 or FX55, your OC potential is much greater right out of the box. And since you said you don't want to OC that much to start, paying the extra money and getting a 4000+ or FX55 is well worth the money. You will be at a very high level to start, and then you can OC a little bit once you learn.
