I'm surprised they got some in this early, the only problem is the price :disgust:
I wonder why it's priced $50 over retail, Newegg did the same thing when they first got 5800's in.

This thread shows the typical immaturity that has plagued video card discussions lately. We will be considering banning ATi vs nVidia threads.

LOL at the cardboard box they show in the pics. For $550 you'd think it'd have decent packaging.

If they're not willing to spend a few cents on decent packaging, then what else did they cut corners on
And I do own Nvidia and ATI products

I would be pissed to if i payed $550 for a card that doesn't even perform that much better than 9800 pro.

I want a god damn golden tin if im paying $550...

No where near a aTi fanboy so you can put that to sleep.

It's got full VIVO it looks like, that's probably why its $550 and not $499. Maybe I'm wrong though, is there a non-VIVO version? No le recuerdo.

When I first saw it on Newegg's site the price was $489. A couple of minutes later the price had been bumped up to $549.

Seems to have VIVO. Considering these cards came from nVidia they couldn't have cut corners (w/exception to the box w/c is pretty sad).

Idiot

He wasn't referring to the GF FX being the paper weight. Look under ONLY 1 Combo Special Discounted per Order to see a big list of paper weights.

ATI fanboys looking to bash Nvidia for overpriced cards, look here

Btw, MSRP for these things are $499, so I would wait a few weeks before the dust settles, unless you want to pay >$50 over retail price.

Mommy wow! I'm a dual slot solution now!

That is not meant to be an insult or something bad about it, but it came to my mind at the time. Heres another one:

Mommy wow! I've got 256MB now!

Anyway, I hope it creates competition a little more strongly with lowered prices which would cause ATI to have price cuts soon and let me get a 9800 Pro...

I like the second card:

ATI OEM SAPPHIRE RADEON 9800 PRO 256MB DVI/TV 8X AGP RETAIL

Umm... ok.

I wouldn't touch any of these cards until the cheating allegations are cleared up. The latest word on the street is that nVidia is using the same shader subsititution in real games as they did in 3DMark.

They probably mean that it's a Sapphire card OEM'd by ATI? I dunno, still confusing.

Sure, with the CheatFX drivers, it's no wonder.

Edit: For $50-$100 less, I'd take this instead.

Edit 2: Look at that Hothardware link. I wouldn't say that the 9800 is getting pwned. See the Splinter Cell benches?

LOL: It's not a bug people!!! It's the CheatFX driver...

Furthermore, NVIDIA still has a bug in their drivers with respect to the pixel shader effect that is used to render the water in this scene. Take a look at the screen shot above. See the flat areas in the water? Last we checked, when water ripples from wind or current, large areas don't go completely flat calm at random. This anomaly is not present with ATi's cards and the water effects look normal without the dropping shader issues that NVIDIA has. So, again we're not quite sure what NVIDIA's card is doing in this test but we'll provide you the scores as is and you can take them for face value.
