Idiot

He wasn't referring to the GF FX being the paper weight. Look under ONLY 1 Combo Special Discounted per Order to see a big list of paper weights.

Btw, MSRP for these things are $499, so I would wait a few weeks before the dust settles, unless you want to pay >$50 over retail price.

You could also save $200 and overclock the 9700 Pro and the performance difference would be negligible.

128 megs. less, with performacne difference under about 7-10%.

I'll save my $200 to put towards another card.

If you want decent packing and good software bundle wait for the MSI version .

Sure, with the CheatFX drivers, it's no wonder.

Edit: For $50-$100 less, I'd take this instead.

Edit 2: Look at that Hothardware link. I wouldn't say that the 9800 is getting pwned. See the Splinter Cell benches?

LOL: It's not a bug people!!! It's the CheatFX driver...

Furthermore, NVIDIA still has a bug in their drivers with respect to the pixel shader effect that is used to render the water in this scene. Take a look at the screen shot above. See the flat areas in the water? Last we checked, when water ripples from wind or current, large areas don't go completely flat calm at random. This anomaly is not present with ATi's cards and the water effects look normal without the dropping shader issues that NVIDIA has. So, again we're not quite sure what NVIDIA's card is doing in this test but we'll provide you the scores as is and you can take them for face value.

M4H!!!! wee need your face eating skills!

I saw a Radeon9800 (128mb, nonpro) for $300 @ best buy today... I thought it was a decent deal.

The problem with waiting for ATI fanboys to show up is that you can't very well have fanboys for a company that sells superior products for less money...all you have is intelligent consumers...

Well regardless it is going to sell anyway. I have so many friends who think they are ultra "uber leet" because they build pcs (though the knowledge ends there...say "northbridge" and they will look at you thinking you smoke pot or something) and all of them are convinced that nVidia's cards are MUCH faster, drivers are a MILLION times better (true in the past...not necessarily now), and every game with the "The Way It is meant to be played" nvidia logo runs smoother and has more "special effects" that can only be done on nVidia cards.

Though I want to point out something - I remember either on AT or somewhere reading a preview that the videocard would end up taking only one slot...not two
