Hey everyone, unfortunetly I haven't been keeping up with the recent technology of "TODAY" since it's always constantly changing, but can anyone give me any personal recommendations on the GeForce FX series vs. the GeForce TI series? Last I've been keeping up with NVIDIA was when they came out with the GF4 TI series! HAHA SORRY I NEED TO GET BACK IN THE PROGRAM!

OHH okay........... that's what i thought, so was the point of Nvidia coming out with a new series that is weaker then the TI series? Some kind of marketing scheme?

The only other "good" FX cards are the 5950, the 5900u, 5800, and 5700u. But the only card that is cost effective is the 5900. I own a 5700u, and it's a fantastic card, but I got ripped off big time (I didn't know at the time) I paid $200 for a 5700u, when I could have gotten a 5900 for the same price. Hey, live and learn I guess, but if you're in the market for an nVidia card now, get the 5900 non-ultra.

5700Ultra I hear is relatively good for it's range

but the Ti4200 is way better than the FX5200 that's for sure... far better.

$, $, and $.
5200 = crap. Waste of $70. If it were $50, it'd be nice. It's definitely a $50 card, but not a $70-$90 card.
5600 kinda = 4200, but not worth it.
5700 = 4200, AA/AF better
5900 =

Well sort of. With the FX series, nVIDIA did away with the 'MX' moniker. Essentially, you can think of the FX 5200 as the new equivalent to the GeForce 4 MX. The FX 5900 is the new Ti4200 - not the top of the line, but a really good bang for the buck. Regrettably, nVIDIA has killed off the vanilla FX 5900, replacing it with the FX 5900 SE and XT, both of which are lesser chips.
