FX8320 OC, is this normal?

I'm messing around with my FX8320 I just got today and started doing some light OC. I set the voltage to auto and jumped it up to 4.0Ghz to start. I have a Coolermaster 212 Evo with AS5.

It's using a low voltage of ~1.28V at 4Ghz, but the temp is hovering around 60C, which seems high. I'd like to get to around 4.2Ghz, but I'm already at the thermal comfort zone even with a very low voltage. I'm using an Asus M5a97 motherboard. No problems reported with OCCT yet.

Any advice or am I at the limit with this cooler?

EDIT: I did notice my 12V PSU level is a little low.

Running a Gigabyte 970A-UD3 Rev. 3 here with a Coolermater Hyper 212+ push-pull, in an Antec 300 with all fan slots populated. 8320 @ 4.5 ghz with volts at 1.39 to 1.42 depending on fluctuations. It never gets above 47C doing OCCT with the medium data set. Check your fan's mounting pressure. Mine here is absolutely cranked down, and not too much TIM, just enough. Still in the process of tuning it in, and so far it's looking like I get roughly the same temps at the same voltage at 4.6 too.

Double check fans for dust build up too

Also is OCCT reading FX core temp correctly. I'd compare it to Coretemp just to be sure.

I guess I'll check my heatsink. I just installed it and all the parts are brand new, so no dust. I will add another fan to the eve to see if doing push/pull helps.

Jovec, I'll check with coretemp. I checked with Heat Monitor and it read the same as OCCT.

Yeah I'm actually dialing down the volts a little, seeing how low I can bring volts and keep 4.5 ghz at this point. At 1.33 to 1.36 I'm seeing no higher than 45C in Prime95 max heat.

I found the biggest determinant in my temperatures was heatsink pressure, at least on this CPU. It might be that the IHS is bowed out a bit or there is something going on regarding that, but all I know is when I tightened it down as far as it would go I started getting the best temperatures.

From my experience you can expect 3 to 5 C for the second fan on the Hyper 212 Evo and +

Voltage drops to 1.27-1.29V underload and goes back to 1.36V at idle. Maybe loadline is messed up. I'll manually set it and try again.

Loadline disabled caused the voltage to droop substaintially. Having loadline enabled sets my vCore 0.01V higher than what I set it at but it stays steady underload. I dropped it to 1.32V (1.33V effective) and set it to 4Ghz. I also reapplied the heatsink. There was a bit too much paste, so I removed and put less on.

I'm seeing right at 60C with 1.33V @ 4.0Ghz. I added another fan to the evo as well, so I have push + pull.

Maybe I just got a hot chip?

Edit: Going back to complete stock and see what temps I get. Also, the AS5 I used is probably 8+ years old and it was the last bit in the tube. Maybe it goes bad after a while?

check to see how well your cooler is thermally coupled to your CPU by getting good idle temps and then hit it with a load. If the cooler is thermally coupled well then the temps should gradually rise, but if you need to reseat your cooler the temps will bounce up really fast.
