Western Kentucky has the BBQ. I'll take that over horse farms any day.

<= four years in Versailles, two in Lexington (that's Ver-sales for you uncultured galoots).

Western Kentucky (Owensboro in particular) has Burgoo and that's pretty good stuff. Not sure on the BBQ there. We've got the bourbon over this way.

Hi vi edit,

Owensboro is known for its BBQ and burgoo. Where are you from?

I live in a 2200sq ft home on a 4000sq ft lot in north county San Diego, about 7 miles from the ocean.

Same here with the 7 miles... middle of Long Island and we're only 7 miles away. BTW, damn your lots are small... and we call ours postage stamp size lots at 100x60.

Calvert City has something besides chemical plants?
Yep, chemical plants and a BBQ joint and more chemical plants.

Edit: Hell damn, the mutton place has been converted to an Italian joint. There is another BBQ place but I haven't tried it.

Hey lizard, can you swing by the buffalo trace distillery and pick me up a case of the pappy, 10yr? Lot b. I'll take a couple bottle of the 23 as well.

I'm close to getting my wife to agree to a bourbon trail tour for my 50th which is closer than I like to admit.

Hey Cr0nJ0b,

Sure, I only charge 100% markup, better than you will get at a jeweler when their precious metals and rocks are discounted.

You don't live in a tiny rural town in W. KY that starts with "C"? Just wondering.

Don't know how long you've been here but welcome to the state. I'm in the southeastern part.

Checking in from Lancaster, KY.
That's about 35 miles South of Lexington. It's just a little "One Goat" town, as we can't afford one lousy horse!

Born & raised in Grayson County, (Leitchfield) for 52 years.

A former coworker kept bees and he would have me stop by Leitchfield to pick up bees and supplies for him.

Hey flexy,

The town I live in is so small that it could fit underneath your capital "C," but just barely large enough to cover a lowercase "c." I live in Western Kentucky along the banks of the Ohio River, a major communications artery and the stuff of legends, such as catfish large enough to eat a tugboat and its accompanying barges.

When I still lived in the US, I spent several weeks in West KY, in a tiny town literally in the middle of nowhere. It was "far out" and an incredible experience. (Coming from Chicago, Berlin etc.) I remember at night I was blown away by the stars in the deep black sky. When you wanted beer or whatever you needed to drive 30mins I think it was a "dry" county too. God, memories....

G' Mornin' IronWing,

Is that "Monkey's Eyebrow" a book, a town or a drink? (though I suppose it could be none of the a foregoing)

The reason I ask is because if it's the first I wish to read it, if it's the second I'm going to go there and if the last, I want some of that!

G' Mornin' flexy,

Sounds like you've done your share of traveling like me. But, I will probably die here and they can scatter my ashes amongst the trees.

Man, I thought you lived in western Kentucky. Monkeys Eyebrow is just down the road from the uranium plant West Kentucky State Wildlife Management Area. :sneaky:
