Well, I guess this deal is gonna hang around for a bit longer Being so, and being that the price changed a bit, i'm giving respect to SpeedZealot369 and re-posting this helluva deal.

I bought a pair of these and they run like buttah, if I must say. I haven't had the chance to OC them (my CPU's FSB is only 333Mhz), but @ DDR400 they run stable and cool through MemTest marathons at 2.0-3-2-5, keep everything running lightning quick in XP, and improve lloading times like you wouldn't imagine.

I actually got higher bench scores with these installed than I did with 1GB of OCZ EL Platinum PC3200, so YMMV with these... but it probably won't

Anyways, i'll stop oogling over my own memory. Enjoy

Smmmm-Okin!

I just bought this ram last week to upgrade from my 1gig of OCZ valueram.
I noticed a definate increase in battlefield 2 performance, in terms of no menu lag and way fast load times.
If you are looking for a 2gig kit and dont want to wait for a rebate (because there are a lot for about this price after rebate with slightly better timings) then this is the way to go.
I tried overclocking but i think my mobo is just too crappy because i cant get them to go over 210mhz or lower the timings at all.

Well these are rated at 2.5cas so there's prob not alot of oc headroom unless you pump up the volts.

G.SKILL do not respond to volts, these will probably not OC well. I bought the slightly higher end version of these that default to 2-3-2 timings @ DDR400 and they wouldn't do an inch over 236MHz, despite numerous reports of easily hitting 250MHz.

YMMV on these, but I wouldn't expect much headroom

EDIT I bought these:

Damn, $130 AR. I don't need it, can't afford it, yet SOOOOOOO want it

fbrdphreak: I think they won't do an inch over 236mhz is because of those timings. You have to relax the timings to get to 250mhz. Probably 3-4-4-8

That's still VERY good for this memory to hit 236mhz at those timings. My value ram barely goes past 210mhz.

From what most everyone says about this ram, it sounds awesome. Just wish I had the time to install it.

I just bought this memory and it has errors at stock speed and stock cpu speed using memtest 1.65.
Back to Newegg they go.
I'll keep you guys posted concerning the next set.

OMG stupid memory prices...spent $200 after tax on OCZ Platinum PC3200 2GB kit and this is so much less.
I sure hope gas prices can go down instead of memory prices.

Will this RAM run at 1T? Had some bad experiences with other value RAM not running at 1T even at stock.

I must be blind...I am not seeing this review.

There's also this better performing stuff, but it has a $50 MIR, while this is an instant rebate.

Hmm... I wonder whether DDR1 will start going up from here or remain going down. I should probably try the 4x512 again, as it was craptacular when I first built my current machine, but now that my OC has stabilized, maybe it will be different. It can't hurt to try.

I paid $185 for that "ZX" CAS 2 stuff last year. Really nice and ran at specified latencies just fine (unlike my Corsair XMS :| ). In fact I have it overclocked a bit, still with tight latencies. We like 'em tight!

Thanks, I do realize that. I dropped it down to 3-4-4-8 and maybe even lower, I can't remember. Its on a DFI nF4 UT so there's plenty of mem options to change, no go. Not complaining about the RAM, just saying YMMV.

I have the red 'Value' ones running @ 2.5-3-2-5 with 2.7v and I haven't encountered any problems, though that extra .5 less on the stock clocks for the AR 2GB could make a bit of difference. TBH, it should be more of a matter of whether you mind waiting for the rebate or not. If you have enough patience to wait for the rebate (if you do, /clap ), I would say go with those for sure. If not, shoot for the red heat-spreader set.

In summary: Both are great sets of memory for the price (8.5 out of 10 on the 'Hawt!' scale ), both are really quick memory regardless of their specs, and both will up their speeds and retain their stability with looser timings and slightly increased voltage. Don't expect any BH5/TCCD/UCCC OC'ing magic, but you shouldn't be dissapointed

4GB for XP (but it doesn't like it, and you're better off with 2GB of fast stuff anyways), not sure for Server 2003, 4GB for 2K Pro, 8GB 2K Server, 16GB 2K Adv. Server, 32GB (!!!) 2K Datacenter.

I can remember the useless stuff from my MCSE classes, but I can't remember the DNS and Active Directory minutiae(sic) that they put on the tests... /boggle

4GB for XP... minus addressing space. Also, I think SP2 does something so it doesn't see the whole amount - you gotta hack it a bit. Usually you get some amount in the 3GB range.
