This is some memory I have been waiting for to go on sale.

Newegg has the G.Skill Sniper Low Voltage DDR3 1600 memory for the lowest ive seen yet at $37.59 after a coupon with free shipping. They also include a free G.Skill 4GB Micro SDHC memory Flash card with adapter with this as well. Previously the cheapest ive seen this was $40AC.

This stuff is generally better than other 1.5 volt kits for overclocking because it produces less heat at the same speeds. Also, some like the snipers better because they are slightly lower profile than say, the ripjaw x's which can cause conflicts with some heatsink/motherboard combos.

yes, you can raise the voltage up to 1.5v. I'm going to do that with my setup. Its great memory and I ordered a set.

its okay, everyone starts from somewhere

these will work on any board that accepts ddr3 (amd or intel)

they will NOT work for boards that are ddr1 or ddr2..

Probably not, but using less power generates less heat, which is a major concern in any PC.
I ordered this set for a new HTPC build, so I'm looking forward to see how well they perform. They will probably overclock fairly well with a voltage increase, although I don't necessarily plan on doing that.

Anyone able to OC these to CL 8? I just put in two sets of these and feel like I have to increase VDIMM to 1.45 just to get these to run at CL 9. I'll play around with it later I guess.

I have the RipJaws CL8 @ 1.5v. Since these dimms are already at CL9 @ 1.25v I plan on using these LV dimms at CL8 @ 1.5v as well

I got the black ones as pictured. There is a pasted sticker on the package that says 1.25 volts.
