I missed out on the Ripjaws 1600 RAM yesterday.

Is there any reason not to put this 1333 ram in an i2500k build? These are 1.5v which I think is the recommended for SB builds.

Annoying high heatsinks can interfere with bigger coolers especially if one day you fill all four slots. I'd wait on some low profile.

I ordered these too, will they actually interfere with an after market CPU cooler?

Depends on the cooler and the mobo layout. I have a little asrock mATX with 4 slots and I can fit 2 of these units, but for any upgrade I'll be trying un-fancy-non-heatsink-ram to fit under the one which is under my old skool hyper 212. The 212 evo version may have clearance, dunno. Basically check the footprint of your cooler and make sure it dont overhang your ram slots, or if it does, that the cooler provides clearance sufficient for these units, yo.
Gentlemen, start your googles!

I have the faster version of this ram. It does fit under the CM 212+ on my gigabyte GA-870A-USB3 board. This board has the silly layout where the fan on the 212+ points to the top of the case, versus towards the exhaust fan in the case.
I had to move the fan that overhangs the first ram slot up by a few mm to allow clearance, but that is no biggy.

Great ram for the price.

Whats the difference between Ripjaws and Ripjaws X? Just the heatspreader design?

From what I can gather researching its 'possible' that Ripjaws X will overclock better due to being better optimized for 1.5v, whereas the Ripjaws will 'work' at 1.5v... But no science to back that up!
